Currently, there are types of fishing baits in Genshin Impact: Fermented Paste Bait, False Worm Bait, Redrot Bait, Flashing Maintenance Mek Bait, Sour Bait and Imitation Fly Bait ( Fake Fly Bait). Each of these guides will cost 3 Medaka (Kingfish), easily caught with Fruit Paste bait. After obtaining the recipes for all types of bait, gamers can use the Crafting Table to create them.

In Genshin Impact, there are currently a total of 8 types of fishing lures, each type will require different requirements or ingredients to create. After players know what ingredients each type of bait requires to create, knowing how to find and collect them is also very important. Because the Genshin Impact world is extremely large, players need to pay attention to finding and buying bait materials at the following locations and locations:

Gamers can only use bait in Genshin Impact's Fishing System. Once you have bait in your inventory, attach it to your fishing rod and head to the designated spots to catch fish. The most suitable fishing rod to use depends on the player's current region.
Genshin Impact will only allow players to choose the type of bait that is currently available at the fishing spot. Just choose one of the available baits and set your fishing line.
How to use bait to catch each species of fish
Fish species using fermented bait (Fruit Paste Bait)
The recipe for Fermented Bait is obtained in the world quest, Exploding Population. Players will then be able to craft a set of 10 with 1 Sunsettia and 1 Wheat. By using Fermented Bait, players will be able to catch Medaka and all its variations.
Salmon-colored medaka is one of the most common fish, found in Mondstadt, Liyue and Inazuma. Purple variants such as Glaze Medakas can only be found in Inazuma, while orange-yellow variants Sweet-Flower Medakas can only be found in Liyue.
Some fish species will need Paimon's help to change the time in the game accordingly. Medaka variants, such as the Dawncatcher and Crystalfish, are more difficult to catch than similar fish. Although they can be found in Mondstadt, Liyue, and Inazuma, they will only appear during certain hours. Dawncatcher only appears between 6:00 pm – 6:00 pm, while Crystalfish appears from 6:00 am – 6:00 pm.
Redrot Bait fish species
Players will be able to receive the Mondstadt Fishing Association's Nantuck Redrot Bait recipe in exchange for 3 Medaka fish. To make this bait set, players will need 1 Dendrobium and 1 chicken meat, which can be easily obtained from Aloy.
Redrot Bait attracts Stickleback of all variations. All Stickleback variants are available between 18:00 – 06:00 (except the red Akai Maou variant). Akai Maou can only be found in Mondstadt, Liyue and Inazuma between 06:00 – 18:00.
The blue variant – Lunged Stickleback can be found in Inazuma, while the purple variant – Venomspine Stickleback can be found in Mondstadt. As for the orange variant, Betta can be found at Liyue fishing spot. One of the hardest variants to catch is the icy blue Snowstrider, which only appears in one location – Dragonspine.
All fish species use False Worm Bait.
The recipe for Imitation Worm Bait is also available from Nantuck in exchange for another 3 Medaka fish. This bait requires 1 Condensate Slime and 1 Berry to craft 10 baits at once.
It is used to catch Butterfly fish and variations. The Raimei Angelfish can be traded at the Inazuma Fishing Association for The Catch – a powerful weapon option for Raiden Ei, along with its refined materials. This is one of the most difficult fish to catch as only a few appear per world at a single fishing spot between 6:00pm – 6:00am.
The rest of the Butterflyfish variants can be found between 06:00 – 18:00. Brown Shirakodai can be found in Liyue while Purple Shirakodai appears in Inazuma. Tea-Colored Shirakodai is found in Mondstadt as well as the Dragonspine fishing spot. The pink variant – Abiding Angelfish can only be found in the fishing spot of Liyue, located on Aocang Mountain.
Fish species that use fake fly bait (Fake Fly Bait)
Fake Fly Bait is the ultimate bait offered by Nantuck. After exchanging 3 other Medaka fish, the player will be able to use 1 Sakura Bloom and 1 Horsetail to craft this bait from the given blueprint.
With the release of the Enkanomiya region, this bait now attracts 3 different species of fish with two variations each. Fake Fly Bait can be used to catch Golden Koi and Rusty Koi, available in limited fishing spots in Mondstadt, Liyue and Inazuma during all hours.
The remaining fish are more difficult to catch, so players may need to spend more time trying to catch them. Pufferfish, and its variant Bitter Pufferfish, are also available at several fishing spots in Mondstadt, Liyue and Inazuma.
The newest fish species, Divda Ray and Formalo Ray, can be found in Enkanomiya. Since there is no sun in Enkanomiya, these fish are always available regardless of Whiteninght or Evernight.
Because there are many species of fish, players can use the fish caught through Genshin Impact's cooking mechanism to create items. Players can also display aquarium fish in Serenitea Lake using the interior, Sapphire Grace Lake.
Additionally, these fish can be used to trade with the Fishing Association from each respective region to receive rewards such as new fishing rods. These fishing rods contain different effects when used that gamers should not miss.
How to get a fishing rod in Genshin Impact
The fishing system is only unlocked for players at Adventure Rank 30 or higher. Gamers need to complete the first mission of the Serenitea Pot world that opens, before the prologue of Inazuma.
