This is an annual international e-sports tournament for the game League of Legends organized by Riot Games. This is the largest scale League of Legends tournament with prizes up to millions of US dollars.
There is now a schedule for the 2023 League of Legends World Finals, this time the teams will compete against each other in Seoul, Korea. The match will start on October 10 at 2:00 p.m. Vietnam time. LOL World Finals warm-up round schedule
This year, Worlds 2023 will start with the group stage which will include 24 teams, divided into 4 groups, each group has 6 teams. Teams will compete in a round-robin competition, with the top four teams in each group moving on to the quarter-finals.
The quarter-finals, semi-finals and finals will be played in a BO5 format, meaning each team will play 5 games to determine the winner. Finally, there is the Final match of the tournament between the two best teams. The winning team will become the League of Legends world champion.

Competition format of Worlds LOL 2023
Worlds 2023 will be held in a new format, with 24 participating teams, divided into 2 regions: main region and secondary region.
Play-in round
- The Play-in round will be the first stage of the tournament, in this round we will have eight teams divided into 2 groups, each group will compete in a 4-team double elimination format and compete in the following format: BO3.
- Next, the top 4 teams will play two matches in a BO5 format with the winning team above having to play against the winning team below from other groups and selecting the final two teams to participate in the main round of the tournament. League of Legends 2023 world championship.
Phase 2 (Swiss)
- Phase two of the World Finals is being completely reworked, this phase will have 14 teams participating including 2 teams from the Play-in round, giving us a total of 16 teams. And teams with the same record will compete head-to-head. This means that in the first round, when teams have a record of 0, they will be randomly selected.
- The Swiss round will have 5 rounds until 8 teams are selected with 3 wins, while the remaining 8 teams have 3 losses. The winning teams will continue to the next round, while the losing teams will have to “pack a melon” and return home.
Knock-out round
- This round will be matches of 8 teams with 3 wins in BO5 format. This list of 8 teams will compete with each other to win the League of Legends championship trophy.
Location of the 2023 League of Legends World Finals
The 2023 League of Legends World Finals will be held in two major Korean cities, Seoul and Busan, from October 10, 2023.
- The Play-in round will take place at the regular LoL Park – LCK Arena in Seoul, with a capacity of 450 people.
- The Swiss round will take place at KBS Arena in Seoul, with a capacity of 1,800 people.
- The Quarterfinals and Semifinals will be held at Sajik Indoor Arena in Busan, with a capacity of 14,000 people.
- The final will take place at Gocheok Sky Dome in Seoul, with a capacity of 16,800 people.
This is the third time South Korea has hosted the League of Legends World Finals, the first time being in 2014 and the second time in 2018.
