There are two ways to unlock Joker as a playable character in Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League. The first way is to spend 1,000 Luther Coins – the premium currency, and the second way is to rescue him by completing the mission “Rescue the Joker?”.
For 1,000 Luther Coins or $9.99, you can automatically unlock the Joker in Suicide Squad, but that’s the same price as the Battle Pass. So, the general advice is to save money on the Battle Pass because there is another free way to unlock the Joker in the game.
How to unlock Joker for free in Suicide Squad KTJL
The only way to unlock the Joker for free in Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League is to complete the mission “Rescue the Joker?”. You can view this mission in Metropolis, as long as you are in Episode 1 Fear Nexus.
The only downside to this method is that you need to be at Episode Rank 35 to unlock the mission. Your rank will be tied to the Elseworld you’re in, and since we’re currently in Episode 1 Fear instead of Finite Crisis, you’ll start at Rank 0.
To quickly complete the Rescue the Joker mission, you should complete Incursions to quickly increase your Episode 1 Fear Rank. There will be 6 Incursions for you to choose from in the game. Additionally, you will need to do some intermission quests to raise your Promethium, but that will also help you climb Rank.
